Okay ladies now let’s get in formation. If you like your Fringe shows interactive and bootylicious, climb on board! This is the workshop for you!
The Bey Dance team are no strangers to the Adelaide scene and are back once again, to speak to you fluent in the language of Queen B.
So will you learn some superfly dance moves to tear up any dancefloor blessed enough to be playing Beyonce tunes? Of course. Will anybody be ready for this jelly? Probably not. But Bey Dance goes way beyond just teaching you the perfect twerk (it’s up and down, by the way, not front and back.)
Bey Dance is a Fringe workshop where you can feel safe to laugh hysterically at yourself, get things wrong but still feel as fierce as Yonce herself remembering the eternal catchphrase ‘I am Beyonce Always.’
Self appointed High Priestess of the church of Bey (her wording, not mine) ran us through an hour and a half long class of a mashup of Justin Bieber’s ‘Sorry’ with Beyonce’s ‘Sorry’ which *spoiler alert* accumulated in a FLASHMOB outside in the Gluttony gardens. Nerve wracking? For sure. But definitely a fabulous way to end the class. Although we can’t say we mastered with Beyonce level flawlessness, we certainly walked away feeling like we slayed the day.
The workshop was for all ages, sexes, species (there was the most adorable puppy in attendance shaking his tushy) and fitness levels. Without trying to sound too cliche, was less about being as sexy and more about giving attendees a sense of empowerment, from the biggest to the smallest dancers… and the fluffiest.
We had an absolutely fabulous time shaking our fine asses… we mean assets, to the finest in the business.
For those a little more dedicated the team also round year run weekly classes to get to know your steps in depth. See their website for more info.
