Bogan Bingo is in Adelaide and celebrating its 10th Anniversary as part of the Fringe. It is a fun night out filled with outrageous, and expletive, bogan bingo calls.

The concept of Bogan Bingo is quite simple. It’s a themed game night with the performers interacting directly with the participants. Over the course of the night two rounds of bingo are played with themed prizes on offer.

It is a very entertaining night out in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The casual feel to the event and venue is really welcoming and the hosts introduce all the bingo calls during their act to get the crowd involved as much as possible.

The show is definitely an evening targeted for groups. The level of interaction is increased through the encouragement found in larger groups with some attending dressed appropriately for the theme.

The two hosts for the evening were naturals at their roles. They remained in character for the entirety of the night and were successful in making the event feel more inclusive. Their practised quirks were enjoyable to witness and added pace to the bingo. Their costumes and authentic attitude to their presentation worked well to emphasise the humorous aspects of the bogan stereotypes.

The music they used throughout the night integrated into each of the bingo calls. This created an extra layer of humour and edginess that was amusing to experience whilst playing bingo.

Bogan Bingo A New Dawn is a great night out away from the bustling Rymill Park area. It is probably best to go with a group of friends to appreciate the night more. That being said, as a couple it was still a lot of fun at Bogan Bingo as the design of the night includes everyone in the games and activities.
