Libby Trainor Parker is here to endo-tain, all while informing and empowering others on endometriosis. While in recent years endometriosis has had more public awareness, we still have a long way to go when it comes to understanding and accurately diagnosing this chronic condition that affects roughly 1 in 10 people with uteruses.

Equal parts entertaining and empathetic, Libby shares her own journey through misdiagnosis, dismissal by doctors, multiple ectopic pregnancies, parenting and parental judgement. The show features both original songs and endo-themed parodies of popular songs, sung by Libby and backed by her fantastic band, the ‘jarmie army’, featuring Matthew Trainor (guitar and vocals), Dylby McCullough (bass), Tina Donaldson (drums), and Sam Jozeps (keys). This fantastic lineup rocked not only their instruments but also matching pink pyjamas. Libby is mesmerising on stage. She is funny, energetic, and has a magnificent voice, but also brings a raw truthfulness to her stories. Her banter with her husband Matt (supporting on guitar and vocals) was also highly entertaining, and he showed his own impressive songwriting and musical talents in performing a touching original song about supporting someone with endo.

One of the things that made this show so special was the absolute love and compassion that radiates from Libby to the entire audience, both to those with endometriosis, those supporting friends and loved ones with endo, or those simply wanting to learn more. She is obviously so passionate about using her journey to help others get the diagnosis and support they need, and also uses her stage time to educate about excellent products on the market that are specifically designed with endo sufferers in mind. I have to admit, I was shocked at how much I actually didn’t know about endometriosis, PMS and PMDD and other issues that commonly affect those with uteruses. It really shows how much shows such as Endo Days are needed.

If you have endometriosis, suspect you may have been misdiagnosed, care about someone with endometriosis, or simply want to learn and be entertained at the same time, you must see this show. Head to Gluttony and catch it before the end of the Fringe. Wear your good PJs.
