After a sold out debut and a host of awards at last year’s Adelaide Fringe and other festivals since, Gingzilla: Glamonster vs the World is back for another season at Gluttony and we couldn’t be more excited to see our favourite Glamonster take the stage again.
Glamonster vs the World is a cabaret drag show with its star, Gingzilla, being a glamorous 7ft bearded Lady-Man with legs that any woman would be envious of.
The show itself is set in the 1950’s in a drive-in with Gingzilla being educated on all the things a woman like her needs to do to keep her man happy. Like all good stories, we see our favourite Glamonster rise above the stereotypes and set about conquering the world. You go girl!
Not only does Gingzilla display a fierce yet vulnerable presence on stage, but she has a sensational voice too which makes a nice change to all the miming that goes on in the majority of drag performances out there. The audience couldn’t get enough of her voice, singing along with her as she worked her way from housewife to all conquering Glamonster.
Everything about this show was fabulous from the interaction with the crowd, to the video clips setting the scene and of course the star herself with her witty lines, amazing voice and overall impressive presence. Even before the start of the show, Gingzilla made her way into the audiences hearts, strutting around the line-up having a chat and delivering pop-corn (with Jaffa’s I might add) to those coming in to watch the show – you absolutely have our vote!
The show is an hour long but it went by in the blink of an eye leaving the entire crowd wanting more.
If you love your women bearded and your legs long, you can’t miss Gingzilla: Glamonster vs the World.
