Michael Shafar is a good 27 year old Jewish boy from Melbourne who writes for Channel 10’s The Project, and is very, very funny. He’s the sort of comedian, that if you were in Melbourne, you would crawl over broken glass to see.

Shafar crams a lot of subjects into 50 minutes: being Jewish, going to University, lawyers, doctors, Nazis, his racist Grandmother and much more and they all hit the mark and the funny bone. He is one of those rare Millennial comedians who can target the older generations just as adroitly as his own.

Although his jokes seem to fly all over the venue, there is a structure to the routine and it is all tied up brilliantly with a great story about his family, nicely harking back to some jokes earlier in the evening.

If you love the humour found in The Project (and who doesn’t), then this is the show for you. If you like Jewish humour, then this is the show for you. If you like a good laugh that isn’t all that offensive, then this is the show for you. What the hell, if you love to laugh and have a good night out, Shafer is definitely the ‘go to’ guy AND the show for all of us..
