Raising the eye-level of audiences at this year’s Adelaide Fringe, Le Aerial sees acrobats traversing the skies in flips and spins that leave a room of gasps in their wake.

Taking the audience on a high-flying ride at this year’s Adelaide Fringe, Le Aerial draws inspiration from the high-wire acrobatics seen at the world-wide favourite, Cirque Du Soleil. The routines provide moments of stunning aerial choreography as these svelte, talented acrobats twist and turn on aerial silks draped from the roof, spin one-handed in an air-born, synchronised duet, and (quite literally) take breathtaking leaps out of the sky.

Although at some minor points, routines seem a tad out of synch, altogether the show is an incredible tribute to the hard-working young aerialists who are absolutely mind-blowing with their strength and grace, and are complemented by the striking lighting display and music choices.

The shows vocal connection with the audience comes from an older gentleman MC, who brings a much-more old school circus element to the show in his printed, jacquard blazer and booming, theatrical voice. To some of the audience’s delight, and others dismay, he also sings some of the accompanying songs.

Aerial Artists Australia combine some of Australia’s most talented youth in the areas of gymnastics, divers, dancers and athletes to create wonderfully skilful aerial acrobatics. The company strives to create new forms of exciting aerial performances, experimenting with different routines and equipment to create shows that entice their audiences.

A great show for the family, or just those who wish to experience a show that quite literally heightens the levels of entertainment at this year’s Adelaide Fringe.
