Fringe Review: …Let’s Get Trickier

it’s easy to see why Magician Michael Wilkop (aka Mickster The Trickster) has had sellout Fringe shows in 2014, 2015 and 2016. What isn’t so easy to see is how he does his tricks – nor should it be.

After seeing him perform, it’s easy to see why Magician Michael Wilkop (aka Mickster The Trickster) has had sellout Fringe shows in 2014, 2015 and 2016. What isn’t so easy to see is how he does his tricks – nor should it be.

Wilkop is charming, amiable, does a pretty good line in patter, interacts nicely with adults and children alike, and can stun and amaze with the best of them.

The theme of this show is his journey through his fairly young life as a magician. The majority of tricks for this show involve mind reading and thought control. There is also a cute bit involving a contest between adults and children, and a rather beautiful oriental fan moment.

Wilkop also uses music to great (and often comical) effect in his latest performance.

…Let’s Get Trickier is a nice, entertaining diversion and 20 cents of every ticket will be donated to charity.

Go and get trickier with Mickster!
