Matt Tarrant, mentalist extraordinaire, returns to the Adelaide Fringe with his new instalment of illusions with his new show, HAPPY. Having taken out a multitude of Adelaide Fringe awards over the last decade, Matt has found success locally and internationally with the passion he’s had since he was eight years old.

In recent years, he’s had to face the loneliness that comes with being a travelling performer, and what steps he had to take to reignite his love for his craft. In this show, he divulges how he reclaimed his motivation, taking the audience through his history of developing as a magician.

Showcasing his roots learning Las Vegas style tricks with three playing cards, to performing large scale illusions, the audience were astounded by his exceptional sleight of hand.

Although crowd participation is at a minimum due to restrictions, it was conducted mostly by having a microphone amongst the audience. Matt Tarrant’s act thrives with an eager audience coming on stage as his illusions are just as impressive up close.

Tarrant’s excitement and gratefulness to be back on stage after twelve long months is palpable, evidence of his reignited passion. Through his magic, he was able to connect to what makes us truly happy, rediscovering our childlike wonder. Matt Tarrant’s poetic conclusion of HAPPY leaves his audience feeling uplifted.
