Fringe Review: Ropeable

High energy youth demonstrating great circus skills, well worth seeing!

With a cast of approximately 20 young persons (they keep moving so difficult to count) this production is full of clever and daring stunts. For most of the program they use nothing more than ropes and string keeping the tricks uncomplicated but performed with grace and amazing flexibility. As they get harder, they include tumbles and falls keeping the audience interest by adding juggling and playing catch with other cast members (throwing each other).

Then they increased the stakes with the inclusion of more equipment, ropes to climb and spin, a ladder to create many opportunities for working together. Climbing and spinning even over the audience in places.

The entire cast demonstrated poise, balance, strength with exceptional energy, all leavened with a dash of comedy. With a performance paced so fast there is always the chance of a missed catch or step. On the rare occasion this happened these youngsters dealt with it with grace and professionalism. Highly recommended for those who enjoy physical theatre.
