Let’s cut straight to the chase – Brits James Dunnell-Smith, Joshua Smith and John Woodburn are The Sleeping Trees and they are bloody fantastic!! They are certainly not wooden and the audience most certainly do not want to sleep while this trio of mad men are performing.

The reason I make a point of the fact that they are British is because the English seem to excel at Sketch Comedy – that’s what the three J’s do (although they are trying to break into Sketch Drama) and excel at it they do indeed.

There’s more skits and routines in this hour show than you can wave a double-ended dildo at (see the show); and they all seem to hang (albeit some more loosely than others) on a framework – that of the guys attempting to undertake a World Tour of their show and not making it – or do they? After all, they are in Adelaide – and we are so glad they are!

Just some of the highlights of this hilarious hour are visiting Vampires, two of the most inept kidnappers ever, role playing how to say ‘I love you’ in an Italian restaurant and a great musical salute to some of the world’s most famous (and some infamous) walls (yes, I said ‘walls’). And let’s end it all with a beautiful emotional heart felt moment!

The likes of great British sketch comedy icons such as Monty Python and the Cambridge Footlighters live again in the form of James, Joshua and John, The Sleeping Trees. Remember that name: hopefully we will see them on television one day – but certainly, please come back to Adelaide.
