Talk Dirty, Stay Classyis a great opportunity for French language learners and French enthusiasts to get together outside of the academic realm and learn all the stuff people want to know but daren’t ask in a classroom. The lesson is fun in format and you can even take pictures of the slideshows to continue the practise at home.

Arnaud is the lively and talented French teacher who hosts this hilarious class in which we learnt these must-know words of any language – the swear words! His first Sips and Giggles class started as something to do as his job was tiresome and boring. However, its sold out success has led to him hosting many more events.

From the outset he is energetic and funny. He quickly advises people that are easily offended to leave the room – it is true, this class is not for the puritans – and yes, you learn everything. Words appropriate for use on the road, words for use in relationships, words for use in frustration at work and, words for all of the colleagues therein.

There is a lot of audience participation regardless of where you sit – he will pick you out and ask you to speak the phrase – and make sure you say it as it should be said. Linguistics also forms part of this class – many of the swear words are historically explained; and the importance of intonation is demonstrated for those swear words that double up as compliments or surprises or the like.

With extensive knowledge in the well-being industry teacher Arnaud says that Talk Dirty, Stay Classy is designed to help you zone out; a remedy for those bogged down by life and its responsibilities. It is for doers not talkers who prefer drinks, laughter and alcohol to escape and heal – rather than the serious tone of traditional therapy.
