Fringe Review: Testaclese and Ye Sack of Rome

Testaclese and ye Sack of RomePresented by Sound & Fury

Sound & Fury know how to show an audience a good time.

Sound & Fury, from Los Angeles, are Richard, Patrick & Ryan, and together, they entertain us in perhaps the closest performance that we will get to see to an original in Shakespeare’s times.

There are well loved and well hated characters, with audience participation encouraged, nay, demanded, leading to a great time enjoyed by the cast as much as the audience. These three actors are secure in their mastery of this form, and because of this can thoroughly enjoy themselves, to our benefit. Although it is obvious that “Testaclese” is a well thought out and highly crafted piece, the actors’ abilities allow them to also delight us with their improvisations, leading to an energy infused show. There are lots of lovely, lascivious, historical puns, grotesquely funny parodies, fabulous costumes and highly energetic performances, so what’s not to enjoy?

Go and see these guys and prepare to become fans.
