Scheduled across various dates in February and March, ‘House of Curiosities’ features two one-hour performances each evening, at 7:30pm and 9:00pm. This unique show invites attendees into a world where the charm of antiquities meets modern-day mysteries. Check out the trailer below:
Under the direction of magicians Alexander Yuen and Kai Emmanuel, who also perform in the show, ‘House of Curiosities’ is designed to spotlight the essential role curiosity plays in understanding the world. Yuen and Emmanuel, both seasoned magicians, have collected an array of curiosities from around the globe, setting the stage for a performance that blends magical artistry with narrative depth.
“We live in a world where knowledge is so easily accessible with a simple click. This creates an illusion where we think we know everything. But the mysteries in life are part of what makes it meaningful,” says Kai.
When talking about the philosophy of the show, Alexander says “Curiosity is the key to knowledge, and if we seek to wonder and discover the world around us with the eyes of a child, we can find many things to marvel about.”
Previously, the show had been met with tremendous enthusiasm in Singapore, selling out all its performances and charming over 300 attendees.
Beyond merely showcasing sleight of hand and illusions, ‘House of Curiosities’ integrates drama and interactive elements, making it an immersive and family-friendly experience. Focused on the art of magic, Yuen and Emmanuel not only perform but represent different aspects of curiosity and pathways to discovery through their roles.
Alexander Yuen, known for his seamless integration of technology and magic, has been a fixture in the global luxury and technology entertainment scene, performing for companies such as Apple, Google, and Netflix. His academic credentials include a Master’s Degree in Psychology which adds to his performances making them psychologically engaging.
On the other hand, Kai Emmanuel combines his background in Communications and Theatre with his lifelong passion for magic, crafting engaging and intimate magical narratives that have garnered him recognition and performances for major clients including Google and Changi Airport.
