The 2025 finalists have been announced for the South Australian Premier’s Food and Beverage Industry Awards, and with 16 unique categories, the list is a snapshot of what the SA industry has looked like over the year. From hospo groups that are bringing a new perspective to the scene, to innovative new products, and standout favourites whose products will always hold a special place in the hearts of consumers, this list has it all. Here are some highlights.
The Kangaroo Island Ligurian Bee Co smashed it out of the park with nominations in three categories: the Agritourism Award, Education and Training Award, and Consumer Choice Award. The KI label’s distinctive, elegant gold packaging always catches the eye and its range of honey is superb. But this year it was a behind-the-scenes tour, knack for learning and development, and love from the community that earned it nominations.

Raven Mead Hospitality, who you’ll know from venues My Kingdom for a Horse and A Prayer for the Wild at Heart received a nod in the EatDrink Local SA category. Marking a decade in the business, Raven Mead opened its fifth venue this year, all with bright, lively interiors, always using locally sourced products. The award is dedicated to businesses that stop at nothing to champion SA products, and there’s no denying this state’s prowess for splendid local produce.
The New Product category is among the most exciting, featuring smallgoods, barbeque meats, baked goods, and spirits, all quickly becoming favourites for many consumers. Always premium and packed with flavour, Barossa Fine Foods earned a nod for its Delicatessen Smallgoods Range. Craters Crumpets Originals also made the cut, perhaps the only pack of crumpets that would be met with delight when given as a gift. If you haven’t tried them, these crumpets are about twice as thick as your regular store-bought variants, with extra deep craters built for absorbing as much butter, marmalade, jam, or Vegemite as your heart desires. Mayfair Bakery & Patisserie’s Baked Gluten Free Cheesecakes also made the shortlist for an innovative dietary-friendly cake range. A nod to one of SA’s most successful installations in recent years, Prohibition Liquor Co’s Chihuly in the Botanic Gardens Gin is also in the running for the New Product Award.

The Consumer Choice Award has 20 nominees, with plenty of the favourites you’d expect. With the winner to be decided by public vote, Alexandrina Cheese Company, Beerenberg, Charlesworth Nuts, Kytons Bakery, Mayfair Bakery and Patisserie, and other favourites made the shortlist.

All the award winners will be announced at a gala dinner on Friday night, 14 November. This year’s theme, Shaping the Future: Honouring Legacy, Celebrating Excellence, reflects an industry that’s proud of its roots and excited for what’s next. The gala is a night for industry leaders, food lovers, and proud locals to come together and celebrate the best in SA food and beverages.
