Keep cool this summer with a refreshing Frose Party coming to the Adelaide Hills.

Taking over Watkins Cellar Door on Saturday January 22, the Frose party will offer frozen wines, a food truck and vibing live music to soundtrack the fun.

From 12 midday, there will be frozen rose and frozen moscato to sip while soaking in the summer sun.

Meanwhile, all wines from the Watkins range will be on offer on the day as well as Uraidla Brewery beers.

Snob Catering will be serving delicious, fresh eats from a food truck. There will be bao buns for $15 and Thai curry sausage rolls for $12 to tantalise your taste buds.

For something a little bigger there will be tuna poke bowls (vegan available) for $25, bacon deluxe burgers for $20, lamb bowls (gluten free) for $25 and fish and chips with Greek salad for $22.

The Frose Party is a walk-in event only. Tables will not be available for booking so you’ll have to arrive early to save a spot.

Brand Director Jo Watkins said they have offered these frozen drinks before in the past, but not in an event that solely celebrates them.

“Frozen Rose (Frose) and Frozen Moscato (Froscato) were last minute additions to our offering with Adelaide Hills’ Crush Festival last year and came about because of a heat wave at the time,” Jo said.

“Frose and Froscato were such a hit on the day and since then we’ve had many requests for our Frose again. This time we thought we would make it the star of the show and throw a proper Frose Party!”

Jo said the inspiration for the event is their award-winning Watkins Langhorne Creek Rose.

“The key to a great Frose is using a quality Rose as your base and allowing for the primary fruits such as cherry and strawberry to shine,” she said.

“The Watkins Langhorne Creek Rose has won a string of awards including: the trophy for Best Wine in the category of White, Sparkling or Rose at the Langhorne Creek Wine Show last year, 90 points from Wine Showcase Magazine, 91 points from Sam Kim at Wine Orbit, amongst others.

“We like to push the boundaries on everything we do in the pursuit of excellence whether that be in our Pilot Range, Classic Range, Sparkling Range, Adelaide Hills Range or Frose!”

Watkins Wines is located at Chandler’s Hill winery, where it shares the space with Dawn Patrol Coffee.

Watkins Wines are crafted at this facility where there is a focus on sustainability.

I consider ourselves lucky that we have such a large outdoor area perfectly suited to social distancing and we will be encouraging our guests to park themselves either on the lawns or on the alfresco pavers, under an umbrella for a relaxing and safe Summery afternoon,” Jo said.

“Even better again, from our Cellar Door we have uninterrupted views of the St Vincent Gulf which perfectly complements a frozen beverage. We are a dog friendly Cellar Door too.”
