What started out as a Melbourne sensation is now an Adelaide staple. Yo-Chi is the frozen yogurt craze which became a smash hit when it opened its first SA store in Norwood in 2021, and now it’s headed to Henley Beach.
The store will be nestled amongst the shops in July within Henley Square, in the former Swedish Tarts location. It will no doubt have the same set-up as Norwood with a self-serve system and numerous flavours of frozen yoghurt to choose from.
Yo-Chi is locally owned and proudly Australian, with a philosophy of positive energy or ‘chi’. It’s certainly what you’ll feel once you grab a frozen yogurt and head down for a stroll along the beach.
Their gluten-free desserts include fresh fruit that’s cut daily, and live cultures for a happy tummy. They even have a range of delicious vegan and dairy-free choices.
Yo-Chi signature flavours are rotated seasonally, keeping in line with what can be sourced locally.
While it does vary, some options to give you a taste of what’s available include salted butterscotch, green tea, and chocolate honeycomb flavours, while the coconut, mango, passionfruit and cookies & cream also feature on the menu.
For toppings there’s selections like Tiny Teddies (a May special), chocolate, nuts, cookies, passionfruit curd, wafers, sour straps and lots more.
The intention from Yo-Chi’s owners was to inspire creativity, encouraging customers to handcraft their own bespoke piece of unimaginable deliciousness.
Prices vary depending on the weight of what you put in your bowl so you can enjoy as much or as little as you want.
The shop will be a great addition to the growing list of offerings down at Henley Beach, particularly following the $14.2 million upgrade at Henley Beach, including a new public plaza as well as upgrades to the surrounding streetscapes.
