Fundraising Flash Tattoo Day for foundation that helps breast cancer survivors

Adelaide tattoo artists are leading a tattoo flash sale at Vintage Scarecrow on Sunday 24 July to raise money for the Pink Lotus Foundation.

Pink Lotus, an organisation that offers carefully crafted nipple replacements for women, is collaborating with Adelaide tattoo artists to host a fundraising Flash Day!

On Sunday 24 July, fourteen artists across Adelaide will be providing exclusive flash pieces all for a good cause.

Money raised will go towards Pink Lotus’ areola restoration tattoo services for top surgery patients and those facing breast cancer.

Tattoo artist Aleisha Gannon launched Pink Lotus Breast Restoration in 2018 after volunteering her tattooing services to the YWCA Encore Support Program at Flinders Hospital.

After developing invaluable skills and understanding of the breast cancer journey at Flinders, Aleisha began to construct nipples using 3D tattooing techniques for breast cancer survivors.

The Pink Lotus Flash Day will be hosted by Woodville South tattoo studio, Vintage Scarecrow. The studio, alongside flash pieces, will be providing a vegan sausage sizzle, wines, and beers for a few coins.

“Vintage Scarecrow reached out, saying they’d love to host an event to raise funds for Pink Lotus. All artists will be contributing their raised funds to Pink Lotus, which helps both men and women,” says Aleisha.

“It has been hard because of covid, and Pink Lotus is purely funded by fundraisers. So, the more people fundraise, the more we can make a difference.

“On fundraising days, flash pieces can range from $100 and up, and they’re pre-designed and sized. If people follow the artists on the Instagram accounts, they’ll be able to get a sneak peek of the designs.”

Participating artists include Claudia Gleeson (cloud.tattoos), Adriana Chippillo (Adriana.c.tattoos), Beth Middleton (middleton_tattoos), Bec (Houdini.ink), Jaid (jaid_ink), Justine (justinetattoo), Mark Weston (markwestontattoo), Owbones, Kirsty O’Neil (salty_fox_tattoo), Mads (mads.tattoos), Lacey Dawn (laceydawn.tattoo), Amelia Grace Ludlam (millygrace_art), (cooperraynelson) and Chira (poko_ono).

“This fundraiser means a lot and will help raise a few thousand dollars, changing the lives of 15-20 people,” continued Aleisha.

Aleisha advised that nipple tattooing services can cost anywhere between $350-$700, depending on if one nipple is required or two.
