Fuse Grows Its Fringe

Fuse Festival Fuse Festival & the Adelaide Fringe have launched a new relationship for the 2011 festival!

A new CEO at the Adelaide Fringe has brought with it a new structure for the popular music conference and showcase festival ‘Fuse’.

Fuse will move its dates to run a week earlier (February 16‐18 2011) concluding its event in 2011 with the programming of a stage in Rymill Park at the opening night of the Adelaide Fringe.

Fuse will work closely with the Adelaide Fringe to program hot ‘export‐ready’ bands and place them in front of thousands of Fringe fans and 50 leading music industry buyers form festivals, labels and publishing companies.

Fuse will also change its open access showcase to a new two night event, showcasing 70 bands in 20 venues under the names Fuse West (February 16th) & Fuse East (February 17th).

Bands will register via Sonicbids thanks to a new sponsorship deal with the American digital provider.

Fuse will maintain its day of masterclasses on Wednesday Feb 16th and two days of business conference on February 17th and 18th.

Fuse is also pleased to announce that it has negotiated guaranteed international performance slots for bands chosen at Fuse to appear at The Great Escape (UK), CMJ (New York) & NXNE (Toronto).

“After programming Fuse from inside the Adelaide Fringe office it is an honour to be in a new position to contribute to the opening night of the Adelaide Fringe. Fuse has successfully showcased more than a thousand bands since 1996 but in 2011 we will put them on stage in front of one of the biggest arts audiences in Australia. This really is a unique opportunity for any band in Australia.” Fuse Event Director, Alistair Cranney said.

In excess of 70 bands showcased during this year’s Fuse and over 45 industry experts from all walks of Australian and international music industry attended including Triple J’s Nick Finlay, Luke Bevan of Universal Music fame, Chris Maund of Ivy League Records (Josh Pyke, The Mess Hall), not to mention John Woodruff (Savage Garden) and so many others… and preparations for Fuse 2011 are already underway!
