A striking light show is casting over parts of South Australia, with major thunderstorms rolling into the city last night and continuing through this morning. Here’s a gallery of the thunderstorms lighting up SA.

A striking light show is casting over parts of South Australia, with major thunderstorms rolling into the city last night and continuing through this morning.

There’s been a spectacular display of thunder, lightning and rain, causing our lightning tracker to glow with hotspots all around the greater Adelaide region.

The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for the Adelaide Region this morning, specifically concerning the risk of heavy rainfall and flash flooding, and it’s clear in the photos and videos below its not just a warning.

There are currently 36 outages affecting almost 8,000 homes across South Australia.
