Following the success of The Enchanted Fig Tree in Kangaroo Island, experience designers Gastronomo are back next week with their new progressive dining event – The FEAST, Kangaroo Island – and you can win tickets, thanks to SeaLink!
They’re giving away the ultimate foodie trip to KI, celebrating this amazing wilderness dining experience, with two tickets up for grabs to The FEAST by Gastronomo Dining. The prize includes return travel with SeaLink to the island for two adults plus a vehicle, AND a KI Spirits gin pack to top it all off! Valued at $880, this is the ultimate dining event!
Hosted inside what Gastronomo says is a secret venue built by hand by early settlers from sugar gum trees and corrugated iron, The Feast will see guests surrounded by a sea of flickering candlelight creating an ambience like no other.
Following ‘food-lines’, the feast itself is inspired from the land and the sea combined as it’s cooked amongst fires and on coals to deliver authentic flavours, rich with the heritage of the culinary methods used to create them.
While not much else is known about The Feast just yet, Gastronomo experiences are known to celebrate authenticity, with guests asked to “go dark” on social media, and not share pictures of events.
South Australia’s peak tourism body says the innovative event will raise South Australia’s profile as a highly competitive tourist destination, providing people with even more reason to book a trip down under.
Shaun de Bruyn CEO of the Tourism Industry Council South Australia (TiCSA) welcomes the new dining event that runs from next Thursday till November 2021, stating that it will support local jobs and stimulate the state’s tourism economy, which is vital as we recover from COVID-19.
“The Enchanted Fig Tree was a great success for our state and the prime reason why many visitors chose to book a trip to Kangaroo Island or extend their stay during its four-month season,” said Mr de Bruyn.
“Kangaroo Island is a unique destination recognised for its pristine wilderness and sensational local produce.
“The new dining experience will drive visitation following the traditional winter off-season and connect tourists to the Island’s vibrant spirit, complementing its world-class reputation.”
The philosophy behind Gastronomo is simple. Bespoke dining events that are designed to connect diners to the spirit and essence of a location through its local produce, story telling, a hint of theatre and a touch of the unexpected.
A sensorially immersive dining experience, The Feast by Gastronomo will be available for bookings across two weeks of each month through to the end of November and will be priced at $145 a head, unless of course you win SeaLinks amazing comp – in which case you’ll be going free!
Entries are open until Friday 15th October at 12noon, with the prize to be used either from the 18th October to 1st November, or from 11th to 29th November, over the duration of The Feast experience (T’s and C’s apply).
