G’day Group acquires popular Renmark holiday park with future plans revealed

G’day Group has taken ownership of a well-known holiday park in Renmark as part of its largest acquisition to date, with future plans for the park.

G’day Group has acquired the Renmark Riverfront Holiday Park previously owned by BIG4, marking the company’s largest acquisition yet and further expanding its footprint in South Australia’s Riverland.

The 9-hectare site on the banks of the Murray River has now been rebranded as Discovery Parks – Renmark Riverfront. The extensive park features upwards of 380 tourist sites, including 79 cabins, four safari tents, and numerous powered and unpowered camping and caravan sites.

Discovery Parks Chief Executive Officer Grant Wilckens said the site is already a strong performer and that the group sees opportunity to build on its existing offering. Think extensions to amenities, pop-up food offerings, and even expansions on accomodation across the park.

“There’s a great opportunity to add to its fantastic amenities with additional activities for guests, such as kid’s clubs during school holidays or bringing in local food and beverage suppliers for pop-up activations,” Wilckens said.

“In future, there is scope to develop additional accommodation to cater for the increased demand we’re hoping to see.”

Visitors already have access to a range of facilities including a resort-style pool, heated spa, water park, outdoor movie theatre, sensory room, indoor and outdoor playgrounds, tennis and basketball courts, a BMX pump track, gym and yoga studio.

The acquisition aligns with G’day Group’s broader strategy to invest in high-performing regional destinations and strengthen its national tourism network.

“The Riverland is such a popular summer destination for people to get out on the Murray,” Wilckens said.

“The region has a great opportunity to broaden its appeal by continuing to lean into other interest areas such as agritourism, its fantastic food and wine industry, and cultural and nature-based tourism experiences.”

G’day Group operates the Discovery Parks and G’day Parks networks, with more than 90 owned holiday parks and over 240 licensed properties. The company’s property portfolio is currently valued at $2 billion, with a target of reaching $2.5 billion by 2026.

Other recent acquisitions include Cradle Mountain Wilderness Village in Tasmania and Wilpena Pound Resort in the Flinders Ranges, which is set to undergo a multimillion-dollar redevelopment.
