Gelato Bello is set to undergo a major makeover of its store in Glynde. The popular gelateria, now closed for renovations, will welcome customers back in mid-September with a refreshed brand and an expanded range of offerings under the theme ‘old skool values, new skool flava’.

The revamp will introduce a vibrant and family-friendly environment, designed to take the gelati eating experience to the next level. Simon Cecere, a renowned designer and photographer, has teamed up with award-winning Total Fitouts to create a modern and inviting space for patrons.

The reimagined Gelato Bello will not only extend its hours, but also expand its menu. Opening early, the store will start the day serving coffee along with traditional homemade sweets like cannoli and zeppole.

As the day progresses, it will transition into a dessert destination offering a modern, Italian-inspired dessert menu in the evenings. This new menu, crafted by Chef Andrew Ferrara, will feature delights such as a Baci parfait and a honey gelato sandwich, alongside a selection of frozen cocktails.

Marcus Nardone, the owner of Gelato Bello, highlighted the gelateria’s deep roots in the community:

“After almost 30 years of business, generations have been through these doors. Parents who enjoyed our sweets as children now share that joy with their own kids,” Marcus said.

“While our popularity has spanned decades locally, the tradition of gelato goes back centuries in Sicily. We aim to honour these traditions while adapting to the tastes and preferences of the modern market.”

Established in 1996, Gelato Bello has been a family-run venture with a strong commitment to community engagement. Known for its Sicilian-style traditional and sorbet gelato, the store prides itself on using fresh ingredients and authentic recipes that have been handed down through generations.

“We are thrilled to introduce our new concept to the Adelaide community,” Nardone said.

“We eagerly await the return of our loyal customers and look forward to welcoming new visitors to share in this fun experience.”

Upon reopening, the Glynde store will operate from 8am to 11pm, providing ample opportunity for customers to enjoy its offerings. Located at 87 Glynburn Rd, this suburban, family-owned store continues to be an integral part of the eastern suburbs landscape.
