German Electronic Heavyweights Digitalism Hit Adelaide Tonight

German electronic giants Digitalism open their Australian tour and the long weekend at Fat Controller this Thursday night.

Germany’ foremost electronic duo, Digitalism, are in town and what better to kick off the long weekend than to watch their spellbinding set Thursday night at Fat Controller. If the frantic, New Order-come LCD Soundsystem-esque single Go Time is anything to go by, the Hamburg raised duo of Jens Moelle and İsmail Tüfekç, are back to their best and more interested in unique beats and vibes than following any current EDM trends.

They’ll be supporting their new album ‘Mirage’ for the show, their first album in five years which also features the cruisy instrumental single Utopia and the captivating Battlecry, which sounds like a track Soulwax could have written in their prime. The diversity of the singles is reflective of a band determined to keep things interesting, which if anything, will tend to translate into a more unique show.

Digitalism are perhaps past their heyday of electroclash music festivals and the spin off buzz from the Ed Banger crowd, but by staying unique and maintaining their independent, if slightly safe, pop sensibilities they have avoided fading into obscurity.
The show is another special coup for local club Fat Controller and is a fantastic follow up to the recent sell out show from DMAs which was one hell of a raucous spectacle with plenty of sing alongs.

Tickets are bound to get snapped up so head to Moshtix to grab yours. To get in the groove, check out the clip for Go Time!
