South Australian chocolate lovers are getting ready for the sweetest time of the year, with the fourth annual FruChocs Appreciation Day coming up on Friday, August 28, and this year it is going to be bigger than ever.

The annual celebration, introduced in 2011 following calls by members of the now 15,000 plus strong FruChocs Appreciation Society will see Menz put on a day of fun for FruChocs fans and offer all South Australians the chance to indulge their sweet tooth.

Phil Sims, Robern Menz CEO,is looking forward to celebrating the SA icon following a year of innovation and numerous new product releases for the brand.

“It’s been a huge year for the Robern Menz team as we continue to grow as one of SA’s favourite brands. In the past 12 months we have introduced FruChocs with Coconut, Nippy’s FruChoc Milk and FruChoc Clusters to the market, as well as re-instating the FruChocs name on our products interstate. So there really are plenty of reasons to celebrate and more ways than ever to enjoy FruChocs.”

Led by Mr FruChoc, the Menz team will host a giant day of games, prizes, giveaways and FruChocs in Rundle Mall from 12pm – 6pm, with revellers set to enjoy a balloon artist from Nifty Entertainment who specialises in making ‘Mr FruChoc’, Face Painters from Mask Face and Body Art and a Sweet Cheeks FruChocs digital photo booth.

Special guests on the day will include Adelaide 36ers players, Port Power mascot Tommy Thunder, NOVA’s Shane Lowe and the Nova Casanovas, and, of course, Mr FruChoc, who will be meeting the fans, taking photos and handing out free FruChocs all day.

In the lead up to FruChocs Appreciation Day, and with the help of NOVA radio, Menz FruChocs have been on the hunt for South Australia’s South Australianest South Australian and developed a quiz that has been testing those who enter on all things SA, from the origin of the YoYo biscuit to famous wine regions and even Tex Walker’s Mullet. The top five entries will be announced in late August and take each other on for the coveted title of South Australia’s South Australianest South Australian.

FruChocs Appreciation Day will see the five finalists participate in a range of fun South Aussie challenges in Rundle Mall from 12.30pm – 1.30pm .. “let’s just say it will be quite the spectacle”

“We’ve had more than 5,000 entries to the competition already, which is an excellent response” says Phil “It should be a close finals competition and we can’t wait to see who walks away with this much sought-after title.”

FruChocs Shops in Glynde, McLaren Vale and Hahndorf will be helping customers stock up on treats, no matter how they are celebrating with 25% off all sales in store and online on the day, which is the perfect chance for loved ones interstate and overseas to get in on the action and appreciate from afar.
