Get in the Christmas spirit with The Annex Café’s art and charity initiatives

The Annex Café is giving people the opportunity to buy local this Christmas and donate to families doing it tough this festive season.

Christmas time is a wonderful opportunity for helping others and, of course, sharing gifts with loved ones and the community, which is exactly what The Annex Café in Glenelg is doing.

With a keen eye on sustainability, art, community, and healthy food options they have a focus on supporting local businesses and selling their handmade goods.

The Annex Café are doing their bit to support local artists this Christmas by having their unique artworks hanging on the walls available for purchase. Included in the array are amazing pieces from locals, Kaye Monck, Diana Lee, and Ros Finley.

If you need that last minute present, then why not make a local artist’s day by buying their work!

The Annex Cafe’s passion for the community is also evident through their involvement in the ‘Purple Bin Project’. This project helps disadvantaged women and children by providing them daily essentials that most of us take for granted.

If you’ve completed your Christmas shopping and want to help change the lives of those less fortunate during the festive season, then you can help by placing NEW underwear, socks and personal hygiene products for women and children (both boys and girls) in the purple bin at the café. They’re particularly looking for deodorants at the moment!

The project team will then collect your donations and directly deliver them to women’s shelters and children’s charities around Adelaide.

Owned by UK-trained Chef George Koritsa, they have a delicious vegan dedicated menu in addition to their everyday menu.

They are committed to delivering a healthy and diverse menu that caters to most dietary requirements and preferences. They also have a wide range of gluten free menu items and cakes. You can find out more about their food here.

If you’re looking to connect with the Glenelg community, experience a little art, and enjoy delicious food with first class service, you can visit The Annex Café at 3 Waterloo Street, Glenelg.
