To launch Iris & Wool’s third collection, they are hosting a pop-up event at Hygge Atrium on 13 March. The designer, Emily Riggs, has curated her pieces to support the local community and be an advocate for encouraging the success of regional women.
Riggs’ label is founded on her love of Australian Merino wool and interest in timeless fashion. After marrying a Merino wool producer in Burra, South Australia, Riggs started her knitwear label.
“Iris & wool was born out of my passion for quality designer clothing and a genuine love for the superior quality of Australian merino wool,” Riggs shares.
The brand is a tribute to Riggs’ mother who passed away from Breast Cancer at age 43.
With every Iris & Wool purchase made, the 100% Australian merino wool brand will donate 5% to the McGrath Foundation.
Australian Merino wool is the world’s finest and softest wool in the world. Merino wool is a natural fibre grown year-round by Merino sheep, consuming a simple blend of natural ingredients including sunshine, water, fresh air and grass. Every year these sheep produce new fleece, making wool a completely renewable fibre.
The South Australian brand uses natural fibres to comprise a stylish knitwear range of sweaters, tops and skirts. With a genuine passion and devotion for sustainable farming practises, Iris & Wool has created a space for local farming to be recognised through fashion.
Buy From The Bush is an Australian bush marketplace for small businesses that creates a platform for small businesses from rural and regional Australia. From art, homewares, accessories, fashion and fresh produce, everything is locally sourced. Every product tells a story about the Australian rural and regional community.
Make sure to hit the RSVP button on Facebook if you are planning to attend the pop-up.
