Sparkke at the Whitmore has unveiled two brand spankin’ new festive brews that’ll be pouring on tap from this weekend and we’ve got your first look.

Meet Kiwing Me Softly a pavlova hazy pale and Sleigh The World a Christmas cake red ale:

No Summer feast is complete without a slice or two of the quintessential Aussie/Kiwi dessert – the Pavlova and Sparkke have decided to put the iconic dessert in a pale.

Using all Australian hops and fresh puree of kiwi fruit this really is the best of both worlds. The result? A delicious, creamy, hazy, pavlova pale that could easily be mistaken for the real thing.

The brew has dominant flavours of fresh kiwi fruit, lemon, grapefruit, pineapple and mango.

With a fresh start and a sweet cream finish due to the addition of lactose, this brew has a rounded mouthfeel with aromas of lychee, passionfruit and summer stone fruit. Pavlova’s dominant flavours of fresh fruit & cream translate well in this hazy pale.

Welcoming into Sparkke’s festive release for 2020 is Sleigh the World – a Christmas cake red rye ale. Taking inspiration from traditional Christmas desserts sees some of the most innovative (and experimental) releases from Sparkke’s little pink-floored brewery.

The Brew Crew were excited to get their hands on 10kgs of Lions Christmas cake to put into the mash tun – and it is everything you’d expect from putting the delicious cake in delicious beer.

It’s like Christmas has come early, with flavour profiles of bready, ginger biscuit, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg, with aromas of candied fruit, rum and raisin and marmalade.

Brewed in English bitter style, with the addition of caramel malts, Christmas cake and Christmas spices, this red rye ale couldn’t shout “It’s The Holidays” any louder! You’d be forgiven for thinking you need a custard chaser.
