Big Shots Coffee owner and roaster Josh Anderson has a passion for coffee and a dedication to serving the perfect brew, which shines through with his state-of-the-art coffee roasting facility and café in Lonsdale and Big Shots Café in Brighton. He explains the benefits of a Big Shots Coffee subscription- and why it’s a great addition to your home or office.
“We all deserve a good coffee, the cost of running a cafe is going up and cafes, rightly so, are having to put their prices up. The cost of the cup that you can make at home is going to be cheaper, so as the cost of living is getting harder for everybody, this is really good way to be able to save on the cost, especially if you are having a couple of coffees, two, or three, or 10 a day!” he says.
With their premium beans and the choice of an automatic or manual machine and grinders, which can be bought outright or paid off over 12 months, there is something tailored to all coffee aficionados.
Josh says the subscription is also a great opportunity for places such as aged care and sporting clubs to gain an extra revenue stream by using the machines to sell coffees within their business.
Josh says Big Shots Cafe training facility in Lonsdale is now taking bookings, and he hopes to see things like office barista competitions, emphasising how a good cup of coffee also promotes team building.
“In a corporate setting, the power of coffee extends beyond mere caffeination; it serves as a catalyst for creativity and boosts team morale. We advocate for cross-departmental collaborations and are willing to provide specialised training to facilitate this,” he says.

These sessions leverage the universal appreciation for coffee to foster meaningful relationships among colleagues, thereby creating a more harmonious and productive work environment – caffeinate and create!”

Josh says it’s important to support local coffee roasters rather than sourcing beans from interstate, which has added benefits of a more complete and personal service, as he can visit the cafes and meet baristas in-person. Or café owners can witness the roasting process for themselves and have access to purpose-built training facilities for their staff.
“Local artisan coffee beans are going to be fresher and higher quality. It’s not coming from somewhere and sitting in a warehouse and waiting, it is straight from the source,” he says.
“We are finding a lot of people are still using roasters from places such as Melbourne, whereas I really think our industry should support itself, whether it is us or another local roaster, there are a lot of good roasters here. I love what SA coffee roasters are producing.”
“There also won’t be freight costs involved and, as well as the sustainability and environmental issues around cutting freight, the money stays within our state. If we’re all growing together and promoting one another we’re not just serving coffee, we are building an industry of support and community.”
Big Shots Coffee is also a wholesaler to commercial cafes and stocks various blends, including their rich and velvety ‘Boom Shaka Latte’ blend which boasts Columbian, Brazilian and Indian beans as well as other blends and single origins. Plus, they are doing some awesome cold drip made with Ethiopian Guji beans, which Josh says is delicious mixed with ice cream.
Big Shots Coffee also create coffee pods and have recently switched over to a local capsule packer which allows them to package more coffee into each pod using a special method- because more coffee is always better.
