Get Your German On At This Must See Cabaret Fringe Show Before It Ends!

Whatever ‘hurry’ is in German…. Do that!

The Adelaide Fringe is nearing its end. Devastating, we know! But that just means that you should do everything in your power to see as many shows as you can before it is all over! And one show in particular, has caught our eye…

German former TV-host, singer and actress Sylvia Brécko is in our fair town for her second Adelaide Fringe – and she’s doing it Her Way! And what’s that? Well a little bit Cabaret and a little bit Kabarett, her show will make you laugh about life, think about love, and wonder at what it means to be a woman.

Brécko’s original cabaret shows explore all facets of human interaction, in particular our relationship with those nearest and dearest to us. For Adelaide Fringe, Sylvia has developed a show that explores these themes alongside issues of Women in Society and her observations of Australian mentality as compared to German attitudes to life and love.

Brécko first visited Australia in 2002, has returned ‘down under’ numerous times and continues to be fascinated by this country and its people. She first performed in Australia in Sydney in 2004, where she later also hosted the gala evening of Sydney’s German-Australian Chamber of Industry and Commerce.

In 2015, she “did it HER way” for the first time at the Adelaide Fringe – to critical and audience acclaim.

Brécko’s shows are half spoken, half music based. She mainly performs Swing and Chanson, usually accompanied by piano or ukulele. She likes to cite smart women such as Marlene Dietrich and Edith Piaf, and has been known to sing one or two of their songs.

Brécko has created brand-new material for her 2016 return season, and is excited to flee the German Winter to heat up Adelaide’s premiere venue for outstanding cabaret, La Bohéme.

With only two sessions to go, get in fast before you miss out!
