70-90% of Australians will experience lower back pain at some point in their lives, with 10% experiencing significant disability as a result (The Australian Government of Health and Welfare).

With back pain ranking in as the second biggest problem in Australasia.

Every day more Australians are experiencing disabling lower back pain, neck pain and headaches, limiting their ability to work and engage in a healthy lifestyle.

One such explanation for this is the impact our increasingly sedentary lifestyles have on our postural fitness. Poor posture increases pressure on your spine, causing lower back pain, neck pain, headaches and fatigue.

Spinal Health Week 2015 not only aims to raise awareness but also offers additional resources such as the Sit Right Widget and Just Start Walking App as tools to prompt corporate professionals to take small and simple action in caring for their spinal health.

“With approximately 215,000 patients visiting Australian Chiropractors each week and the rapid increase in neck and back problems due to sitting for too long, CAASA are passionate about raising awareness of the issue and assisting in offering the preventatives” said Dr Andrew Timbs, President of the Chiropractors Association of South Australia.

Spinal Health Week 2015- Get Your Happy Back is on from May 25th – 31st.
