They say in Adelaide there’s a wedding season and that you should always be working towards it, but in reality all year is chock-a-block and every chance to plan, budget and source ideas are a must. Let’s not make too fine a point on it, but it is your day or days after all.
So, while you would have attended Love Cherish Adore earlier this month (you did, didn’t you?), it’s now almost August and time to get that big red marker out for your next day trawling stalls and suppliers. Let the opulent surrounds of the InterContinental Adelaide Ballroom be your latest mecca, as their annual Bridal showcase returns on Saturday, 6 August.
Unlike other expo’s, flush with wheelers and dealers trying to grab your attention, the line up of stall holders has been carefully picked by the InterCon, who of course want you to see how to make the best of their space. These are all great stall holders in their own right though, including Alexis George, Adelaide Flower house, Sugar & Spice cakes and Staging Connections, amongst others. There’s no shortage of professionals to answer your questions.
And those attending can go in the running for international honeymoon prizes, which is certainly a draw as well.
If you’re yet to fix a location, as a wedding venue itself the InterContinental Adelaide features marble floors and the Grand Staircase which are certainly beautiful. It is the only venue in Adelaide to offer ‘pinspots’ on wedding tables, in partnership with Staging Connections. The pinspots are focused beams of light that help make centrepieces and wedding cakes a stunning focal point. Let’s say they have a good send for the dramatic.
