Come and visit the Adelaide Hills and stay in a cosy, fully renovated 1969 vintage caravan with all the amenities you could want, nestled deep in the glorious Sturt Valley.
You’ll be surrounded by wildlife on a working permaculture-focussed farm, on the banks of the Sturt River away from the noise of the city and in one of the states premier wine producing regions.
Not to mention, its a great little isolated spot to keep your distance from the world outside for a few days.
The Adelaide Hills may be one of the most picturesque and romantic destinations in Australia, and that is exactly what the owners of this getaway have aimed to encapsulate when they decided to convert their little old caravan into a fully self-contained cabin. They wanted to share a little part of their paradise with the rest of the world.
Today, the cabin sits snugly just metres from the banks of the Sturt River and is a perfect retreat for couples or just those looking for a little escape from the world.
The cabin has a small footprint, to keep things functional and cosy (not cramped) the toilet and shower facility is just outside the door and across the deck, and due to the proximity to the waterway, a compost/chemical toilet was the only reliably eco-friendly option – imagine a quiet, more spacious airplane bathroom, just out in nature a little. It’s not uncomfortable – in fact, most people say it adds to the experience – but it is unique, so be prepared.
Whether you’re looking for a cosy base from which to explore the hills, you want to shut yourself in with plenty of coffee and a shelf of good books, sit by the firepit with a glass of vino, or you just want to get a taste of life in this wonderful part of the world, a few nights in this little cabin might be just the answer.
This Adelaide Hills getaway is only $127.14/ night, and is rated a fantastic 4.98 on Airbnb. For more info or to book click here.
