Getaway: Experience Luxurious Simplicity In This Rustic Adelaide Hills House

Built in 1896 as the Blakiston Cheese Factory, this creamery has retained its rustic charm with original beams, exposed stone walls, and high ceilings alongside modern art.

Want to escape to a simpler time in history without giving up on modern amenities and contemporary style? We’ve found just the getaway house for you… though you better jump on it quick, before we book it out for the rest of our lives.

Built in 1896 as the Blakiston Cheese Factory, this creamery has retained its rustic charm with original beams, exposed stone walls, and high ceilings alongside modern art.

The home hosts eight guests in four rooms with five beds — four doubles and a room with two king-sized singles (so you’re not drawing the short straw anyway).

Enjoy pre-dinner drinks in the large country kitchen with its gorgeous communal table, wind down in the lounge room or family room, or relax in the original deep cast bath.

Prepare to settle into this home away from home, full of little everyday details, like a coffee machine, washing machine and dryer, dishwasher, and of course WiFi.

Plus, it’s got a few little extra luxuries, including an indoor fire place perfect for those chilly Adelaide Hills mornings and black out curtains so you’re getting your beauty rest.

The house is in beautiful surrounds in Blakiston with Howard Vineyard, The Lane Vineyard, and Hahndorf minutes away by car, so you’ll have plenty to keep you occupied.

Although, you’ll probably never want to leave.

$700 a night. Book here.
