McLaren Vale is home to magnificent vineyard views, pristine beaches and world-class wines. Being only a 40 minute drive from Adelaide CBD, it’s the perfect place for a weekend getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city.
If you’re looking for surreal accommodation in the wine region then The Treehouse, a luxury two storey retreat set amongst the trees and with stunning ocean-views, should be high on the list.

Architect Max Pritchard designed the space with the vision to bring the outdoors in and it’s fair to say he definitely achieved this. The home is surrounded by native trees, making you feel as though you’re in your very own forest hideaway.
On the ground floor you’ll find a large bedroom with a King Bed, designed with louvres to allow the gully breezes to keep you cool at night. Did we mention you can also stargaze from the comfort of your bed? Thanks to the lack of blinds, you’ll literally be sleeping amongst the stars.

The second floor features an open plan kitchen area and living area, with reverse cycle air conditioner, combustion fire and flat screen TV. The living area leads onto an outdoor deck that offers stunning sea views as far as the eye can see.

If you fancy a getaway with friends, for an extra fee you can also book the adjacent cottage, a one bedroom single storey self contained villa, which can accommodate an extra couple. The houses are separated by luscious lawns and gardens.
It’s pretty popular so if you’re looking for off-the-grid bliss that’s just a stones throw from the city, get in quick. Prices start from $260 per night.
