This off-grid ‘Slow Cabin’, nestled in the Skilly Hills and overlooking a picturesque vineyard of 170 acres, is the perfect location to unwind after the silly season.
Hosts Edwina and Angas have taken a minimalist approach to the architecture of the cabin, opting to showcase the stunning, leafy surrounds and connect you to the beautiful Barossa Valley landscape.
They carefully selected design elements with the intention of encouraging guests to slow down and to savour life’s most important rituals. The interior is cladded with marine ply which, coupled with the angular design and lofty ceilings, creates a warming and spacious environment.
The feature is an oversized bench seat that can be used as a daybed, and the bifold windows open for al fresco living. The bedroom has a huge, A-frame window that brings the outside in, highlighting certain features with natural light. The skylight in the bathroom also welcomes in natural light to the centre of the cabin.
Did I mention the luxurious outdoor bath? You’ll feel royal as you indulge in a hot bath amongst the sounds of chirping birds.
The luxury is in the small details. A selection of Aesop and high-end materials make the bathroom feel lux. Earthwool insulation helps to keep the cabin cool in the summer and warm in the winter. There’s a small library, board games, a hammock and yoga mats. Everything you need to take a deep breath.
The best part is that this picturesque tiny-palace is situated on Mitchell Wines less than two hours from Adelaide.
