Giant Mix 102.3 Ferris Wheel returns to Glenelg for summertime fun

The Mix 102.3 Giant Wheel is making its return to the iconic Moseley Square this Friday, October 29, kicking off the impending summertime fun with a bang

Summer is in the air Adelaide! And to celebrate, the Glenelg foreshore is transforming into the ultimate seaside location in spirit of the welcomed warmer weather.

The Mix 102.3 Giant Wheel is making its return to the iconic Moseley Square this Friday, October 29, kicking off the impending summertime fun with a bang. Marvel at Glenelg’s enviable city beachscape from above as the sun sets over the sea.

The Ferris Wheel will be staying in Moseley Square until May next year, so there’s plenty of sky-high summertime fun to enjoy. The iconic ride is the tallest portable Ferris Wheel in Australia, standing 35 metres high in Glenelg. Tickets cost $12 for individuals 13 years and over, with children 12 and under riding for $8.

To commemorate the return of the iconic Giant Wheel, Skyline Attractions and Holdfast Bay have teamed up to offer Adelaidians the chance to experience a Gondola ride when shopping in the bayside area.

Collect four receipts from an array of Holdfast Bay businesses, attach to a postcard-sized “Spend and Spin” ticket and ride the wheel for free (minimum $25 spend at each business). The Gondola can fit up to six people inside, so it’s the perfect opportunity to see the sights from above with friends.

To claim the free ride, show proof of purchase to the Moseley Square Skyline Attractions box office in exchange for the free Ferris Wheel ride. The exciting offer is in place for the first 500 validated tickets between November 1 and December 24.

But the fun doesn’t stop there. Glenelg is turning into the ultimate ice cream palooza this Saturday, with the inaugural Ice Cream Festival taking over the Jetty Road precinct for one day only.

The free community street party, which runs from 11am to 5pm, is showcasing everyone’s favourite summertime treat – ice cream. Indulge in the delightful and delicious frozen treat from around the world as you peruse the Holdfast Bay area. There will be something for everyone at the festival, with live music, food stalls, fashion parades and kids’ activities on the day.

While the Ice Cream festivities will conclude at 5pm, exciting fun will spill out onto Glenelg’s side streets for the remainder of the evening until 10pm.
