Adelaide's hottest celebrities will help immortalise the iconic Australian thong when Glamathong 2012 comes to Elizabeth Shopping Centre. The quirky installation will be on display from September 13-30 as part of the In Season Summer fashion calendar.
Glamathong will see 200 pairs of honeybees thongs used to create a large mural featuring the customised designs of South Australia’s favourite media, sport and fashion personalities.
Lending their creative fl air to the project are stars including Thunderbird’s Captain Natalie von Bertouch, The Voice superstar Chris Sebastian, Nova919’s Maz, Dan and Shane, and Glam Adelaide's Kelly Noble.
From paint and pom-poms to sequins, glitter and ribbon, the brief is to show your creativity and make your thongs stand out!
The colourful exhibition will feature Australia’s hottest new fashion brand, honeybees. The thongs are Australian designed and dreamt – they’re the rubber thong reimagined for the person who dares to be different and stand out from the pack.
Each of the celebrity decorated thongs will be auctioned online with the money raised to support three South Australian charities; Little Heroes Foundation, Women’s & Children’s Hospital Foundation and HeartKids SA.
Elizabeth Shopping Centre customers will also have a chance to participate and have their designs displayed alongside their favourite celebrities with a limited number of thongs available for collection at the customer service desk.
Glamathong is an exciting addition to the In Season calendar at Elizabeth showcasing Summer fashion at its finest while giving back to the community.
