Here at Glam Adelaide we like to do things in style. And as fun as living out of a backpack, staying in hostels and showering with baby wipes was, we now enjoy a more relaxed and luxurious type of travel. Want to know how we do it? Here are our tips to plan a luxury escape.

Use A Quality Travel Agent

In fact this list may as well end after this paragraph. How many times have you missed a flight or had a flight cancelled and been frantic about how you’re going to reach your destination and how much it might cost? We bet it’s been more than once. How long have you spent trolling the internet going round and round in circles, reading poorly written reviews trying to figure out where to stay and what to do on your trip? Probably longer than enjoyable. To avoid all this and undoubtedly more stress we STRONGLY advise you invest in a quality travel agent. They take the hassle out of everything, and the best ones can organize things down to the tiniest detail. Luckily there are some great local options, including luxury travel specialists The Tailor who have won a stream of awards for their fabulous packages and services. Want a private chef? Helicopter rides? To stay where royalty stays? Yeah, these guys can arrange that. Visit their website http://www.thetailor.com.au/ or call their experts on 1300 364 406

Know Your Budget

Have an idea of how much you want to spend. Travel expenses can easily snowball as you get more and more excited about your trip and experiences. Take all opportunities to see and enjoy everything you can, but don’t drive yourself into the ground by getting carried away.

Travel Off Season

We all know that prices are lower in the off season, this isn’t new information. But what about less crowds? Quieter hotels. Shorter lines. Better service. Ask your travel agent what places are better to travel at what times of year.

Stay Boutique

Boutique and unique rhyme for a reason. (And we don’t mean ‘unique’ in that really want to say weird but don’t want to be rude, kind of way.) From luxury “glamping” (that’s glamour-camping, for those not in the loop) to small apartment style stays, boutique accommodation has such a wide variety to experience. There are often less guests, therefore the staff can focus on your needs more intently, and are happy to do so. Be warned: you may not see a five star rating on places like these. This is often because they don’t have all the amenities of a hotel chain. Having said that, just because your accommodation lacks a restaurant doesn’t mean it isn’t five star, especially if it’s in a location surrounded external dining.

Don’t book through an online discount site

We know it’s tempting, those prices are damned cheap! But if you’re after a true luxury experience online discount pages just can’t provide the quality of service. After all, they are a middle-man. Luxury escapes can come with a luxury price tag sometimes, but we recommend a perfect holiday over a cheap deal that could leave you disappointed. Choose an agent who is working with your needs at heart and tailor a package that will provide you with a faultless holiday.
