The festive season is upon us and despite unseasonably cool November weather, Santa is ready to hit the surf!

The Bay is where you’ll want to be THIS Saturday the 27th and Sunday the 28th of November.

After his stellar appearance at the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant, Santa is hitting the sand and setting up a FREE beach cave in Bay Discovery Centre between 12 pm and 3 pm.

The young and young at heart at welcome to enjoy a day at the beach, with live music, food and festivities galore.

From 11 am at the Glenelg foreshore Santa will be accompanied by Mayor, Amanda Wilson, in his bright red convertible.

If you miss out on seeing him, don’t worry Santa’s Beach Cave is open both Saturday and Sunday for the kids to pass on their present requests.

On both days, the main stage will have some of the most popular floats from the City of Holdfast Bay’s annual pageant.

Some of our favourite National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant floats will also be heading down to Glenelg, so why not get that special family photo with Wang Wang and Funi or in front of Stardust Castle.

Kids who are interested in crafts will find a variety of activities near the play space on the foreshore.

Two free Little Picasso workshops will also be held each day at the Bay Discovery Centre.

Those aged between one and five years old are invited to come and try a gym on the grass area near the main stage.

For those making a day of the event, you’ll be spoilt for choice with so many cafes and restaurants down Jetty Road but if you need something quick, the lovely volunteers from the Rotary Club of Somerton Park will have their bbq fired up from 11 am for a sausage sizzle.

In the spirit of giving the, Make A Wish Foundation will be selling Christmas trees at the Glenelg Football Club and Cricket Club car park while Brighton Lions Club will be selling Christmas cakes at Chapel Plaza.

Do check them out and bring some Christmas cheer home with you.
