Global app Knowbie launches Barossa wine training for hospitality and retail staff

Barossa Australia is partnering with Knowbie training app to transform hospitality training and put Barossa winemakers on the global map.

Barossa Australia is partnering with Knowbie training app to transform hospitality training, educate wine aficionados and put Barossa winemakers on the global map.

Aiming to reach thousands of workers worldwide, this recently released partnership will introduce a new educational module, “Location Series: Barossa, South Australia,” to the Knowbie platform, offering free access to invaluable wine education for front-line hospitality and liquor retail workers around the globe.

Barossa Australia represents over 550 grape growers, 170 wineries, and 180 tourism operators, making it the proud voice of the renowned Barossa region in South Australia.

Head of Wine Education and International Market Development at Barossa Australia, Annabel Mugford, says the new module is a chance for Barossa wines to get in pubs, bars and wine enthusiast hands world wide.

“Knowbie offers anyone interested or working in hospitality to learn all about the amazing wines the Barossa has on offer,” she said.

“It also has the added bonus of introducing modern tech to our winemakers.”

The “Location Series: Barossa, South Australia” module exemplifies both Barossa’s dedication to wine education and Knowbie’s commitment to elevating hospitality training standards. The cirrumiclum is adapted from the Barossa Wine School and knowledge Annabel has picked up over the years talking to winemakers.

“There were six wineries directly involved with the development of the module,” she said.

“Following 13 years of overwhelming success at the wine school, we decided to give the world a taste.”

Knowbie, based in Canada, is a cutting-edge technology platform that revolutionises hospitality training through interactive, bite-sized lessons. It’s rapidly gaining traction in North America for its innovative approach to employee education in the hospitality and liquor retail sectors.

But Annabel reassures us that the app is available anywhere, for anyone!

“It’s not just for those in the industry, knowing about what you are drinking is so important,” she said.

“This has been a long time in the making and we are so excited to be working with an international developer to bring Barossa to the world,” she said.

According to Knowbie founder Crystal Hamilton, “Partnering with Barossa Australia, a voice as powerful as their region’s legacy, allows us to bring their stories, history, and passion directly to the people who work with these wines every day.”

This collaboration not only enhances the skills of front-line workers but also reinforces Barossa’s mission to spread wine education, echoing the success of initiatives like the Barossa Wine School.

Scott Hazeldine, CEO of Barossa Australia, shared, “This partnership offers a unique opportunity to increase knowledge and elevate standards across the industry, creating richer experiences for our guests.”
