Second Life Markets is due to make its highly anticipated debut in Adelaide, following successful events in Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, and even London. The Market Shed in the CBD will offer a fresh fashion experience for local collectors and enthusiasts on Sunday, November 10th, 2024.
Kicking off at the day, VIP access starts at 10:30am, so early birds can snag the best vintage finds and unique pieces before the crowds arrive when the doors officially open at 11am.
First established in 2019 by Stella Brackenridge and Meg Charnaud, Second Life Markets have since been hosting many popular events across Australia and the UK. Stella and Meg’s goal is to “educate and encourage fashion consumers to redirect their purchasing power to more sustainable and thoughtful shopping – to slow down fashion and hunt for those special and unique pieces.”
Second Life Markets are hosted across several locations including Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, London (UK), Brighton (UK), Bristol (UK), and now Adelaide!
Ava Viscariello, the Adelaide Event Producer, expressed her enthusiasm for the launch.
“We are thrilled to bring Second Life Markets to Adelaide,” she said.
“With so many exciting initiatives emerging in fashion, food, music, and art, it feels like a refreshing time in the city, and we’re proud to be a part of it.”
“Exactly a month after Adelaide Fashion Week, the market is a great time for fashionable locals to come back together and get their fashion fix,” she added.
Attendees can expect an immersive experience filled with curated vintage and local designers, alongside a lineup of local DJs, including the renowned DJ collective Nausea. The markets will also feature delicious food and drinks to help visitors unwind and enjoy their Sunday.
“Adelaide has a fantastic fashion and creative scene,” Ava added.
“I hope these markets provide a platform for local and emerging designers to showcase their talent and connect with the community.”
Market-goers can look forward to a variety of local sellers, including Shop Pond, Filter Store, No Scrubs Vintage, Room on Fire Vintage, Pineapple Vintage, and Sustainable Clothing Co.
There will also be fun activities, such as getting custom bling from Sidone of Big Fat Gemzies and snapping vintage Polaroid photos with Carter of A-Town Booth.
Additionally, FRND Mag will host a pop-up space for shoppers to relax, take pictures, and browse the latest magazine edition.
“Considering Second Life Markets’ cult following interstate, I can’t wait to see it thrive here in Adelaide and hopefully become as recognised as it is across Australia and the UK,” Ava said.
Tickets are available at the door or online with attendees encouraged to bring their own reusable shopping bags. Sellers will accept both cash and card, making it easy to shop sustainably.
Don’t miss this chance to explore a new fashion frontier in Adelaide, mark your calendars for November 10th and get ready to discover a world of unique treasures at the Second Life Markets.
