Gluttony is set to dazzle once again at the 2025 Adelaide Fringe with an exhilarating lineup of shows and experiences. The South Australian arts hub will celebrate Fringe from February 20th to March 23rd 2025 at the newly renovated Rymill Park/Murlawirrapurka.
The spectacular 2025 program includes 180 shows spread across 15 unique performance spaces. Directors Elena Kirschbaum and Daniel Michael are optimistic that the array of talent and new dining options will captivate audiences. They shared, “From spellbinding circus acts to side-splitting comedy, Broadway to burlesque, game shows to grunge, and a top shelf DJ line-up featuring The Presets and Bag Raiders, Gluttony 2025 will be as energetic and eclectic as ever – with delicious eats and artistic treats for every age and interest.”
Enhancements to Rymill Park Lake promise to level up the Gluttony experience, with new dining venues including seated lakeside restaurants and a Terrace Bar. New features like a Champagne & Oyster Bar, alongside a Wine Shop, are poised to make Gluttony the prime spot for pre- and post-show indulgence.
The program offers a blend of new acts and returning favourites. Noteworthy performances include ‘Primal’, a daring circus cabaret from Rouge creators Highwire Entertainment, and high-energy contributions from international groups like The Ladyboys of Bangkok and Japan’s Cirquework, presenting YOAH.
Ms Kirschbaum shared the diversity and scope of the entertainment on offer, saying “For fans of epic circus extravaganzas, we’re over the moon to bring The Black Blues Brothers back for the first time since 2020 with their unmissable acrobatic musical theatre show, along with YOAH from Japan’s cutting-edge Cirquework, and the joyously colourful Afrique en Cirque, from Canada’s Cirque Kalabanté.”
On the local front, the program boasts shows like ‘Young, Fun and 21!’, celebrating Berlin Boy Wonder Hans’ milestone birthday, and the pop culture parody ‘MARVELous the Show’ from Sydney’s Action Reaction Entertainment, featuring impressive aerials, dance, stunts and live vocals.
For younger attendees, Gluttony offers family-friendly attractions such as the space-themed ‘Mission to the Moon’ and ‘Bubble Show in Space’, alongside the interactive mini-music festival ‘Kidstock’.
New additions to this year’s lineup also include ‘Hey DJ – A History of Hip Hop’, and tribute shows celebrating the songs of Elton John and Fleetwood Mac.
Mr Michael said “The Fantail will host a sensational line-up of unmissable one-night-only shows including banging DJ sets from Aussie duo The Presets, Young Franco who’s launching his debut album, the fierce and multi-talented Naarm/Melbourne artist, Soju Gang, the return of Hot Dub Time Machine, Adelaide legends DJ JoSH and Late Nite Tuff Guy, and Bag Raiders – who’ll provide an epic send-off to the 2025 Fringe season on the final night.”
Overall, the revamped Gluttony promises to provide a thriving cultural experience with a dynamic blend of theatrical shows, music, comedy, and destination-worthy dining options.
