Gluttony is gearing up to ignite the East End once again in 2026, and it’s shaping up to be the biggest one yet. Adelaide’s favourite Fringe playground turns sweet 16, and like any teen with a taste for chaos and confetti, it’s going big. From 19 February to 22 March, more than 200 shows will pack into 18 stages, solidifying Gluttony’s place as the beating, glitter-streaked heart of Fringe.

Two big new venues are joining the party. The Gosling – a lakeside tent pitched perfectly for late-night laughs and intimate sets – and the Tandanya Theatre across East Terrace, home to a powerful program of First Nations works. That new theatre lineup is a collaboration with Tandanya National Aboriginal Cultural Institute, putting Indigenous storytelling front and centre where it belongs.

Co-directors Elena Kirschbaum and Daniel Michael say the milestone calls for a mammoth celebration.

“Everyone loves a party so we’re celebrating our sweet 16th by bringing our biggest ever bounty of entertainment to the East End and making Gluttony the home of music at Adelaide Fringe 2026,” they say — promising 29 nights stacked with shows for every age, budget and Fringe flavour.

Among the fresh faces is “Long Way to the Top,” Dave Gleeson’s loud and proud tribute to Aussie rock, and GASHA, a high-energy Japanese circus spectacle that will likely have you booking a second ticket before the applause ends. Returning crowd-pullers include the velvet-smooth California Crooners Club with Hugh Sheridan and the dance-floor-commanding “History of House: Greatest Hits” with DJ Groove Terminator and Soweto Gospel Choir.

The Gigs @ Gluttony series – a breakout hit last year – is back and bigger, luring both homegrown heroes and international acts. Think ‘Hot Dub Time Machine: Can’t Stop’, ‘Faker’, and ‘The Beards’ – each popping in for exclusive one-night-only mayhem.

Beyond the performances, Gluttony is transforming Rymill Park/Murlawirrapurka into a vibrant carnival setting. More than a dozen bars will operate throughout the site, including the relocated Margarita Bar overlooking the lake and an expanded Champagne Island. The 29-stall food marketplace caters to a broad range of tastes, with plenty of vegan and gluten-free options, while lakeside restaurant dining offers an elevated experience.

This year also introduces the Gluttony Sculpture Walk, an outdoor exhibition of large-scale visual art installations designed to enrich the festival atmosphere.

Daniel Michael said visitors can expect a noticeable step up in the hospitality offering in 2026, with more food and beverage options across the park and the continuation of Gluttony’s cashless payment system to streamline service.

Sixteen years in and Gluttony is still a city icon, this year returning with bigger ideas, braver programming, and unforgettable nights beneath the stars.

Tickets will be available through Fringetix and the full lineup will be available on the Gluttony website.
