First established by Joseph Osborn in 1912, Australian wine company d’Arenberg is still impressing wine-lovers all over the world with their high quality, award-winning drops – 105 years later.
Today, fourth generation family member Chester makes distinctive wines, using traditional methods, both in the vineyard and winery, and now you can see it for yourself.
Yep, d’Arenberg are now offering a behind the scenes vintage wine tour and tasting, which involves a guided tour through the winery, tasting from an open fermenter, and the opportunity to see the traditional winemaking methods still used to this day, such as foot treading and basket pressing.
Following the unique tour, patrons will get to enjoy a tasting experience in d’Arenberg’s original cellars, featuring wines that showcase the range of different winemaking techniques used. Don’t deny that this will be your favourite part…
You might be wondering, what makes this tour any different from other wine tastings? Well we’ve got the answer!
d’Arenberg are one of the few wineries that offer guided tours throughout the winery during one of the busiest times of the year – vintage time.
Visitors will be able to experience how traditional wine making techniques make such an impact on the wine that then ends up in the bottle. Interesting!
Don’t worry if you don’t have a certain type of wine that tickles your fancy, because there are a variety of red and white wines on offer, and with over 70 wines available at d’Arenberg, you’ll be sure to find something you love!
All of d’Arenberg’s vineyards are located in McLaren Vale, South Australia, although some of the wines they produce are made from grapes sourced from the Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu Peninsula.
Tours go for approximately 90 minutes, so there’s plenty of time to get your money’s worth, and find your perfect match – of wine that is.
d’Arenberg’s Behind the Scenes Vintage Tours opens 10.30am-12pm daily from the 20th of March until the 17th of April, and with it only being a 45-minute drive down the southern expressway from the Adelaide CBD, there’s no excuse not to experience this amazing offer!
Tickets are $55 per person, and can be purchased online at http://bit.ly/vintagetour.
