Gold Trifecta For The National Wine Centre

The National Wine Centre of Australia won gold, not once but three times at two different award ceremonies in the one week recently thus firmly cementing its place as Adelaide’s premier venue for functions and catering!

The iconic venue shined at the Restaurant and Catering SA Awards for Excellence and collected the award for “Best Wedding Caterer” for the second time reflecting the Centre’s superb facilities, service, food and attention to detail within this category.

The second award and one of the most prized in the industry – was for South Australian “Caterer of the Year!” This is the second time the National Wine Centre has won this award within three years!

Caterer of the Year is one of the most prestigious awards for excellence and is presented to the winner solely by the Restaurant and Catering Association judges as opposed to other categories for which venues, businesses and individuals nominate themselves and then progress to a list of finalists. The award is based on the judges’ highest scoring venue in all catering categories (function centre, wedding caterer and venue caterer).

Both awards are a true testament to the efforts and personal touches the entire team at the venue bestows on each event.

The trifecta was won when the National Wine Centre took out the “Best Function Facility (Specialist)” at the 2012 Hotel Industry Awards for Excellence. This was the first time the National Wine Centre has entered The AHA/SA Awards. The win was a real feather in NWC’s cap with the AHA|SA receiving 170 nominations for this year’s awards, from all over the State.

As is always the case with the AHA awards, the competition was extremely fierce! National Wine Centre General Manager, Adrian Emeny said “Winning these three awards, all inside a week, is a delight for our team! They reflect the National Wine Centre’s tireless commitment to being outstanding at all levels! Our team is trained to have an eye for every detail as they work on every aspect of our function and wedding business from the moment a prospective customer calls to make an appointment through to the clearing of the last coffee cup and wine glass. Our continued focus on the client as a unique individual and to ensure their event is nothing short of perfect, has paid off.”

The National Wine Centre of Australia is open 7 days a week for visitors wishing to hold a function, meeting, experience their wine discovery tours, view the wine exhibition or dine at the Concourse Café which overlooks the Botanic Gardens.

In addition to managing functions for clients, the Centre is open to members of the public to enjoy the same level of service and hospitality experienced by function guests when it hosts a series of wine dinners from August 2012.

Its ever popular ‘Uncorked’ sessions continue every Friday fortnight with complimentary cheese platters and feature a wine maker at each event.
