Golden Days For Madeleines Nangkita Shiraz

wineSouth Australian wine company, Madeleines, were awarded four gold medals last week as a flurry of wine show results were revealed.

The 2008 Nangkita single vineyard Shiraz was awarded a Gold medal at the Royal Melbourne Wine Show and a Gold medal at the Australian Small Winemakers Show.

Two more of Madeleines Shiraz based wines were also awarded Gold medals – the 2007 NSX Shiraz and an unreleased 2009 vintage wine.

Winemaker Chris Dix was proud to say “with three Gold Medals for our 2008 Nangkita Shiraz we continue to make one of Australia’s best value Shiraz wines – for around $20 you can enjoy a top Shiraz”.

The awards across a number of wine shows and a spread of vintages demonstrates the consistent quality and style achieved at Madeleines.

Madeleines 2009 Sauvignon Blanc was also awarded its second Silver medal at McLaren Vale Wine Show this week. (RRP $15)

Nangkita Shiraz is made from estate grown grapes from Vigneron Peter Belej’s cool climate Nangkita vineyard. The estate is located in the heart of South Australia’s Fleurieu Peninsula between McLaren Vale and Currency Creek.

Madeleines brand wines are handmade from selected distinguished single vineyard blocks in Adelaide Hills, McLaren Vale and estate grown grapes from Vigneron Peter Belej’s Nangkita vineyard using both traditional and innovative winemaking techniques.
