Wheeling its portable pizza oven to meet Goodwood Road’s welcoming neighbour, Good Gilbert Bar, Secret Pizza Club (SPC) has announced an epic collab on a Sunday evening of your favourite winter drinks, “silly snacks” and of course, Neapolitan style wood oven pizzas on July 24.
Good Gilbert, who graced Goodwood Road in late 2020 with the addition of its cosy and rustic vibe, is inviting you to join them on a relaxed event that celebrates all the right things: alcohol and pizza.
Their talented Sav (aka chief of “silly snacks”) has stepped up to the challenge of satisfying your winter cravings by pushing the boundaries with a “silly” Hawaiian pizza that’ll tantalise the tastebuds in what seems like an innocent and traditional pizza, but it is so much more.
You’ll be challenged with the gamey flavours of duck and teased with the spice of pickled pineapple.
Meanwhile, the beautiful people at SPC that started their journeys as passionate flavour experimenters and became full-time mobile pizza-makers during the pandemic, will be matching Good Gilbert’s energy with magical creations.
Taking a Lebanese traditional fermented yoghurt dish, kishik, combining it with the gentleness of buffalo mozzarella and throwing it atop a perfect wood oven blessed sourdough base is just the beginning.
A classic pork and fan favourite SPC chilli sauce will be on offer in a bianco style, and of course, Margherita because it wouldn’t be a pizza joint if it wasn’t on the menu.
You’ll be spoilt with a choice of over 400+ wines, beers, and spirits but we recommend trying one of Good Gilbert’s cheeky cocktails.
If you’re a simple type of drinker, you can’t go wrong with their “Vanilla & Lime Club” that’s sweet, a little bit zesty, a lot bit basic, and boozed up with the Australian Distilling Co.’s triple distilled vodka.
Or, if you like something a bit more hearty you could order one of their “Second Last World” that doesn’t shy away from the smoothness of Luxardo’s cherry marination liqueur, mixed in with Melbourne Gin Company’s signature gin, and garnished with fennel shrub.
In light of truffle season, Good Gilbert have come out with a special that is shaking up the classic balance of a Negroni by taking the bittersweet taste of Campari liqueur, local gin, and refreshing vermouth, and enhancing it with the muskiness of truffle.
The pizzas will be cooking from 4pm to 9pm or unless sold out earlier. The fun doesn’t end there though, drinks will be on offer until 10pm.
Due to the nature of the event, walk-ins are encouraged.
