Gourmet Traveller Names SA Club Sandwich As One Of Australia’s Best

Turns out that one of the best 3 club sandwiches in Australia is made right here in South Australia.

The Louise in the Barossa Valley is known for offering absolute luxury accommodation, featuring inspired design with private spaces, generous ensuites and breathtaking vineyard views. It’s where our luckiest travellers head to stay when they’re looking to experience the best of the Barossa. And when they get hungry? Appellation next door offers a world class dining experience, at one of South Australia’s best restaurants. It’s known for its incredible food.
A little known fact however, is that The Louise has it’s own little place to grab a drink or some food. The Sunset Terrace and Wine Bar is adjacent to Appellation and next to their kitchen garden. You can relax in a deep cushioned lounge on their terrace with a pre-dinner drink while watching the glorious South Australian sunset, or choose a raised stool or banquette in the indoor wine bar and indulge with snacks and a wide range of beers, wines by the glass or cocktails. You can even grab a club sandwich. Which, by all accounts, is ONE OF THE BEST CLUB SANDWICHES IN AUSTRALIA!
Having just been nominated as one of three finalists in the BEST CLUB SANDWICH category of the 2017 Gourmet Traveller Hotel Guide Awards, The Louise just keeps on giving.
They’re up against Halcyon House, Cabarita Beach, NSW and The Johnson, Brisbane, QLD.
Now in its fourth year, Australian Gourmet Traveller Magazine will announce winners in eleven categories at an awards event on Wednesday night this week. The awards include that for supreme Hotel of the Year, decided by Gourmet Traveller’s reviewing team after they have stayed anonymously at the country’s top hotels. The awards recognise the cornerstones of any great hotel stay, from the best hotel pool, best minibar to the best club sandwich in the land.
