Over the past few weeks, a brand-new café has quietly opened its doors in Woodcroft, offering a unique spin on the typical grab-and-go coffee shop. As they prepare for their official grand opening, the spotlight is on their standout feature, beautifully curated grazing tables!

Grazing in the Valley has been around for the past few years, catering grazing tables and boxes for events around the state. But now, owner Emma has decided to take the leap and open her very own cafe, selling specialty grazing offerings in combination with your favourite cafe treats and local coffee.

“I’ve always been the person who’s catered for all of our friends’ events, and a couple of years ago a friend asked me if I could cater one of their corporate events, and I couldn’t do it as I wasn’t licensed or insured,” Emma shared.

“Another friend said to me ‘Why don’t you start a food business, do something you love?’ so that’s what I did, I started a catering business!”

Emma jumped right in and started Grazing in the Valley about two years ago now, initially working from her home kitchen.

“We’ve grown nonstop over the past few years. We started from home and about six months into it we extended our kitchen, and another six months later we outgrew that. We then built a commercial kitchen in Lonsdale, and a year later we’ve grown out of that.

“I was looking for a bigger space, and this came up, so we thought why not do a cafe as well!”

At the cafe, you’ll find coffee, milkshakes, fresh salads, baguettes, croissants, and more.

“We try and support local businesses, so we have macarons from The Macaron Bar, croissants from Lonsdale, Dawn Patrol Coffee from McLaren Vale, we get as much local produce in as we can.”

All this, plus Emma’s signature grazing boards, will be available to try at the Grand Opening event on Sunday, January 19th from 11am.

“My husband is in the local CFS, so as long as there are no fires they’ll be bringing CFS trucks along. Of course, we’ll have a grazing table for people to sample, plus we’ll be selling drinks cakes and sweets. We’ll also have a lady doing glitter tattoos, and we’re running a competition to win a year’s worth of babyccinos.

“We’re just going to be here and have fun! Having a little bit of a celebration, we’re all so excited,” Emma shares.

For those interested in the grazing boards and boxes, Emma says they can be ordered in-store or online, and while stocks last she’ll always try and have some mini boxes available to purchase on-site.

In these boxes, you’ll find a combination of local cold meats, cheeses, olives, fruit, crackers, dip, and more.

With its combination of grazing tables, cafe treats, and a strong local focus, the Grazing in the Valley is sure to become a staple in Woodcroft. Don’t miss their grand opening event on Sunday, January 19th, for a taste of their offerings and a fun-filled celebration.
