Lord Mayor Sandy Verschoor has congratulated Greg Mackie on being elected as Central Ward Councillor-elect.

Lord Mayor Sandy Verschoor has congratulated Greg Mackie on being elected as Central Ward Councillor-elect.

With 40 years working in the City of Adelaide, Greg is a businessman, public sector leader and cultural entrepreneur with a background of community service.

A former Myer executive, in 1984 Greg established Imprints Booksellers in Adelaide’s West End, cofounded the Adelaide West End Association in the mid-1990s and created the Adelaide Festival of Ideas (1999).

Greg Mackie has previously served as a City Councillor between 2000 to 2003.

Lord Mayor Sandy Verschoor congratulated the Councillor-elect and said that Greg Mackie brings a strong mix of business experience and community service to the Council chamber.

“As a successful small-business owner, respected public servant and former Councillor, Greg Mackie will bring a great depth of experience to the City of Adelaide at a time when our communities are facing significant challenges,” said the Lord Mayor.

“I look forward for welcoming Greg to the chamber in June and to working with him to create a city full of dynamic experiences.

“I’d also like to thank all the candidates for putting themselves forward for election and wanting to represent their communities.”

The election was declared at 2:28pm Wednesday, 13 May and will be certified on Monday, 18 May.

The ECSA website has all results of the 2020 Supplementary Election, which will be certified as of Monday, 18 May.
